Another one of Jamie's 30 minute meals!

Sea bass and crispy pancetta, sweet potato mash, Asian greens, sparkling lemon ginger drink  This really was made in 30 minutes although the kitchen looked like a bomb had hit it, but boy oh boy was it worth it.

The Pampered Chef Reversible Bamboo Carving Board was perfect for mixing the sweet potato dressing on, the dip in the middle meant it stayed where it was suppose to!

The sparkling lemon & ginger drink was really really nice I wasn't expecting it to be, after all its ginger, lemon and a bit of lemonade topped up with fizzy water.... what a great flavoured water so refreshing and left me with a smug.... I made that feeling!!! Can't wait to try the pomegranate one now...

I'm not too confident about cooking fish but I followed his instructions exactly and it turned out absolutely perfect, the skin was beautifully crisp and the flesh cooked just right!  Paul was a little skeptical about the bacon with fish but again, spot on!

Asian vegetables were very easy to do and very tasty, loved the idea of dressing the bowl then adding the warm vegetables, got stuck in with my hands and I loved it! Didn't have asparagus so used french green beans instead.... just as nice!
Didn't make the dessert as Tesco were out of stock of all frozen fruit.... should have gone to Sainsbury's!!!

Jamie Olivers 30 Minute Menu - Stuffed Mushrooms Crispy New Potatoes & Beetroot & Feta Salad

Taken from Jamie's 30 minute menu, this was the one he made the steak sarnie with, we did it without as there was plenty of food for mid week.  It was easy to put together but wouldn't have done it in 30 minutes if I'd made the sandwich as well and the results we had were variable too. :-(

Now I like feta and I love beetroot but this was so-so for me, probably not enough texture, soft beetroot, soft cheese, OK, though I won't be dashing to make it again!

Stuffed mushrooms -
I've made these before but by adding the chili and the lemon just takes them to a different level they were Divine!! Could have eaten more - Paul missed the meat!
The crispy new potatoes were easy to cook, with the wide pan and pre boiled water they didn't take long at all, drained and fried in the same pan saved washing up too.
Had the royal seal of approval from the kids too!

I am definitely getting this book , this is the third menu I've done and with the exception of the beetroot salad we've loved them all!

I've been instructed to make the sarnie from this one and leave the vegetables out... nuff said!

Jamie's 30 minute meal

I sat watching Jamie O's 30 minute meals on catch up earlier today and watched the one where he makes mushroom risotto with a cucumber and spinach.

I checked the fridge and I had all the ingredients to do the spinach salad but lacked mushrooms for the risotto...

but I did have asparagus, mint and lemon... so that's what I did, cooking it in the 30 minute style. It turned out fabulous!

Didn't have the stuff to do the dessert he suggested but did have everything to make a huge banoffee pie!

This was delicious... expertly made by Jo.  The recipe she used as base loosely on this one here however she used butter and kept it plain.
