Anyhoo, I've had a bit of an ear bashing about my unhealthy eating... don't I worry about all that fat?? I sat with a rather rotund lady who told me that she is under her doctor for her weigh and is not doing so well, so is attending Weigh in World (can't remember which one!) because they let her have a Chinese take away and she's allowed lots of sins... which she sometimes uses to replace all her meals as she'd rather have a bar of chocolate!!! As she was telling me this she was scoffing cake, I was drinking water as I was still full from my cooked breakfast, and she’d had a bowl of cereal with semi skimmed milk.
When I explained my varied diet all she focused on was the cheese; butter and the lack of oranges and apples etc... She took no notice of my vegetable intake, the fact I'd lost over 10lbs in just over a month, surely that can't be healthy?!!
I don't mind that she doesn't like the way I eat, what I do object to is her asking me how I stay so slim then when I tell her, she jumps down my throat as if I've just said I'd eaten a baby seal!!! I don't eat shop bought cakes and biscuits, vary rarely eat takeaways, I'm picky when I eat out and don't treat myself like a human dust bin!!! (At this point of the conversation she's was eating a second dessert because it was offered... she won't eat anything later to make up for it she told me... how can that be healthy???)
I never tell people that I think their low fat, point watching, red day green day diets are bad, when people are overweight and reaching for another piece of cake, I don't say a word, I'm respectful of their choices, its their body, their life BUT... when you expect me to listen to you moaning about your trousers being tight, you're out of breath when you climb the stairs or that you don't want to go to fat club because it was someone’s birthday at work and you over indulged... I'm not interested anymore! Likewise don't ask me what I eat then rip my diet apart, I'm not overweight, not under my doctor and no longer interested in what you have got to say -
Too harsh?
One cannot argue with success Julie! Just keep doing what you are doing. Me, I can't be bothered with all the hassle of don't eat this, eat that, green and red days, points for this and points for that. I'm a rather lazy sod and it just doesn't work for me. I hate the idea of sinful foods. That only makes them more appealing.
ReplyDeleteAs long as you have stuff in moderation, who blinking well cares? I have to agree with Marie on this. I hope you told her to 'stuff off' :o)
